In this episode of Bitcoin, Explained, Aaron and Sjors welcome Ruben Somsen and Josie to the show to discuss BIP 352, their now-finalized Bitcoin Improvement Proposal for Silent Payments. As previously discussed in episode 58, Silent Payments use a special type of addresses that allow senders to generate public keys for transaction recipients, in such a way that these recipients can in turn generate the associated private keys. This benefits privacy, as Bitcoin users can freely share a static address, without this resulting in address reuse on the Bitcoin blockchain. Aaron, Sjors, Ruben and Josie recap how...

1k Interesting perspective: the US government having a stake in Bitcoin, preferably a larger stake than its adversaries, as a shield against bad (and developer unfriendly) policy.
That said, I think Bitcoin is more useful for small holders than for nation states - which can just use their army to guard a bunch of hard to steal gold.

100 Re. de macht van pools: het is goed dat (bij zowel Stratum v2 als Datum) pools een block template actief moeten afwijzen. Dan wéét je al miner tenminste dat er censuur is, nu kom je daar maar moeilijk achter.
Stratum v2 op BitAxe staat ook op mijn wensenlijstje, er is een Github issue voor. Maar is niet iets wat ik zelf kan.
