Without local caching and unilateral exit actually implemented in the app and having hard dependency on operator cooperation to exit then it’s custodial. Listen I actually like Spark and think it makes reasonable tradeoffs in a world without covenants, but as it stands it’s a custodial product. Happy to revise this once we see an actual implementation of unilateral exit and more operators and LSPs, but it’s just the honest reality today.

So many great takes in this. NVK did dominate the podcast circuit and was an asshole to his competitors. Red flags for any brands or influencers that exhibit similar behavior... 110 is a perfect example of this IMHO.

This was a fantastic rip with Giacomo and it's not because I agree with virtually all of his opinions, which I do, but that's not why. It's because this pod is a perfect example of why there should be more Bitcoin podcasts. Giacomo's opinions are nuanced and cannot be easily communicated in a tweet and wouldn't be as widely appreciated in a long form note or article, his opinions needed a podcast to be fully communicated and appreciated. Podcasts are what killed the woke left because their opinions were not nuanced and could not be articulated with meaning in a long form discussion. This is how I find signal through the noise. Thank you both for giving the correct level of nuance to your opinions. 🙏

Start9 products are objectively really great. Disappointed to see them actively push BIP 110 activation client when it still had consensus critical bugs that would’ve lost users money if a core contributor hadn’t found and disclosed. You can’t claim to be neutral and use your X to actively push a specific client. Offer them all without endorsement and honestly disclose the level of review. In the past the team has bragged about the level of review in the start9 App Store so turning around software the same day it is released on GitHub that has consensus bugs (regardless of the ideology) is a very disappointing. Again awesome tech and awesome work. Learn and grow friends.
