Hi, I’m a UK Bitcoiner and I love the show. I wanted to mention the Buhtan Bitcoin accumulation. I personally don’t see this as a success story. I don’t think government having a lot of power is good and therefore I don’t particularly like strategic reserves in government because it just empowers them and keeps them big. Obviosuly Bitcoin is for enemies so it doesn’t keep me up at night but it’s why I am happy that the UK is avoiding a Bitcoin strategic reserve. I feel like this is an unpopular opinion so I’m interested in what you think.

This guy is an absolute buzz killer but he’s essential and I’d love to hear more from him and ppl like him. I feel that the bitcoin space (podcasts/channels) tends to get too much in its “happy eco-chamber bubble”. Maybe the main target is to inform non-bitcoiners and show them all the beautiful things about btc, but what about us maxis? For us the biggest risk is to close ourselves in our eco-chamber and neglect uncomfortable aspects and problems of btc and not talk enough about them. We gotta keep questioning ourselves! The hardest thing is to find valid arguments that highlight btc weaknesses and real conversations about btc actual problems (present or future). A podcast between this guest and someone who can reply to his concerns would be amazing (Jeff? Gigi?) Just my 2 cents, Hakuna Matata

After hours of digging into this, I think the crux is (and please ppl join in): 1)opposition is worried of statements like “btc is whatever ppl want it to be, so if tomorrow the block space will be full of jpeg and monetary transaction are pushed out, then let it be that, a database for storing jpeg”. This is what I hear at least 2)what btc is is decided by the people, why are ppl that don’t agree with this change and don’t want to store JPEG on the their node potrayed as censorship, and not as expressing their vote for what they want btc to be? 3)also very worrying that core potrayed opposition as irrational and minimal. There are too many ppl, too many, opposing this, so portraying them as non-existent and irrational is not reassuring I don’t know where I stand anymore, but I’m worried the way the debate itself is being handled

very interesting and some comments on the usd that I haven’t heard before (and make lots of sense). He lost me at the end when talking about btc: seems like a huge pessimist that believe government will always win_ his comments about choosing time frame doesn’t not make any sense (then why mention a time frame yourself if you then say that anybody can choose its own?!)_ kept saying “hasn’t proofed itself yet (good god man give it time, it’s 16yo (which I would shorten to 10yo because who the hell knew it existed before?)_ lastly his comment about Ammous shows he completely missed the point (they will get it because it’s inevitable, not because he’s a dictator and will force it 😂)
