That Mostr bridge can't be trusted. Yes it works but also doesn't and is confusing and often delayed by several hours and the threads have massive holes in them. It was down for several days the other week for example. It's nice to keep tabs on some stuff but can't be trusted. I recommend keeping any real conversations on their respected protocols like IRC++. 😁

Another problem is that Bitcoiners have never truely cared about #PC20 and that's why we only have Fountain and Alby helping out because they get it and I got mad respect for both of them.

One thing I like about AlbyHub is that yes apps could run it for their users like Truefans does but I'd rather them make me a cool app so I'm willing to run my own as a trade off. They get to add the cool lightning stuff and not worry about my money. Every app being a host and a wallet is cool but now everything is really getting siloed. Alby is also battle tested and someone could run a MegaHub as a service but that ain't me.

Yes we chose keysend when we added lightning years ago but blaming those of us using and promoting the only options that let us build openly and that support it ie nodes and Alby(Hub) is bullshit. I was nervous when Alby move to AlbyHub because I knew it was the only option we had for the little guys but I went all in on it and helped other with it like I always do with everything and it paid off 10x and AlbyHub on a node is the best combine we've ever had and it you go all in and do it right there really aren't any downsides. If AlbyHub sucked I was just going to use BoostCLI since that's the fallback.

Changing your lnaddress in a RSS feed is just as hard/easy as changing your keysend address is now. Using Primal and want to switch to Strike? Still need to change it in the feed. No difference and no one is going to selfhost a lnaddress look up so they can change it on the backend and only time.

Shit posting aside I see what Oscar is trying to do and see the vision but I'm all here for the other devs so we just need some time for everyone to hash this all out. The current system works and is solid if you've been playing along this whole but it is limited. It's also not going to be an easy change however we do it.

Ya there's definitely nothing wrong with waiting. 6 to 12 months from now it will be much more capable, and in order of magnitude easier to set up

I've been setting up mine to automatically log conversations. I've been feeding it all of my notes and business ideas. Everything gets automatically cataloged into obsidian. That obsidian vault is included in the QMD database for vector memory search. My agents have excellent short and long-term memory with minimal token usage. To set it up right, you really need to spend quite a while setting it up - or buy the files from somewhere. I've been setting up going on 3 weeks. It has already made me more productive. Soon my calendar will be synchronized. Client leads with automatically be filtered and surfaced front and center to me. The more you use something like this, the more you will start to understand how you can compound little abilities on top of each other. One cron job can trigger a cascade of events and work. I have used simplistic bots for many years. I used to have one that would pay my child support for me. That ran with no issues for about 5 years before they updated the site and broke my bot. I used to use another one for automatically populating descriptions and titles for an online store. At that time, I was replacing an employee with a simple bot. These things have been providing real value for people, for longer than people assume. Again it all comes down to how you use it and what you're doing with it. 6 to 12 months from now the landscape will be much different. Right now it's very hard to set up correctly and easy to burn money if you don't know what you're doing. But soon a lot of these things will be ironed out and much more normal people will be able to get higher value from it. On top of that, every time the models get better or cheaper, that means you can also upgrade your system to be smarter or cheaper.

I don't know who's spending $1,000 but you doing it wrong. I spent $15 in the past 3 weeks with more usage than I've ever had. It all depends on the model. But If they are also using it to do scraping and analyzing, it's not exactly simple work. And if you compare that to a human being doing the same work - that $1,000 is probably much cheaper than a human spending the time manually scraping and analyzing. I think I saw a graph recently saying that Claude opus outputs - in one prompt - between 5 and 15 hours of human work. Obviously that's not on every prompt, but that's pretty substantial even if it's expensive at a 30 cent API call, then maybe it's an extremely good deal. It's all very relative to what you're using it for and what your accomplishing in the end. Some of us have been playing with AI models for years already so we already know how to prompt better and we get better results. You've got to keep playing with different models - talk to them in different ways - and be explicit, try to remove ambiguity. And if you're having problems writing prompts - ask one AI to write a prompt for you to give to the other.. and that will often increase your chance of a one shot successful prompt

As someone who came into podcasting 2.0 as a podcast listener/app user I've always just been interested in seeing what works the best or who's doing cool stuff so that other people can just kind of find the best stuff out there and go from there so I just kind of filter stuff for Others and that's about it

Maybe a better comparison is taking your car to the dealership versus you know having your buddy work on it or even working on it yourself. Ones more expensive more convenient and probably safer legally or whatever and having your body when you're hopefully you trust one trust me enough to let work on your car and maybe he'll do some of the work for free. Maybe you'll have to pitch in and do some of it or if you're at work if you're working on your car yourself maybe you're watching some dude to put up a YouTube video on how to do something and you spend Six hours doing what should've taken 30 minutes but you'll learned a lot

I don't even know where the line for self hosting Falls cause it's like obviously you're renting someone's web server and you upload you know your MP3, your XML, your art and stuff where you put it in the index and then it's free for anyone to do whatever they want with and Hosting companies. Do they count? I don't know. They basically just do it for you. They do the same thing we're doing, but you have to stick to their rules because I mean they are running the business and most of the ones in 2.0 see the same vision so like you don't have to worry about getting deplatformed or censored or anything, but I don't know. Can you go in and can you add experimental tags into your RSS feed, probably not.

Big tech doesn't want you to know this, but you can just boost your thoughts into your own podcast. On the self hosting topic it all started from there because that's what the podcasts that really cared about podcasting 2.0 we're doing because they wanted ultimate control and freedom and that's just the same thing we want I mean, I don't think people don't know how easy it is or how much control or even how cheap it is. They can have control over their stuff but I mean that's really all it all it comes down to. You know, you can do it all yourself and I'm kind of jaded with different people coming and going and not really sticking around or seeing our vision so it might come off as rude or gatekeeping or offputting for some but I mean we're doing this all value for value so it's just kind of come in it's open. It's free just contribute and if people are vibing with you then they vibe with you and I've seen it happen over and over and the same people keep showing up and we know who they are so I don't know. I don't really see any problem.

You could have 100% go to @npub1ah55ex8qs… and still divided it up on your end or just put the splits right in the feed and just add whatever % you guys want. PC 2.0 and RSS is how I'm listening to this episode and sending this Boostagram. Fountain has Nostr but it's just social stuff and is still heavy on the PC 2.0 stuff under the hood. Don't write it off so fast is my point. There is talks of adding L402 as a paywall/subscription option if you didn't want to give stuff away for free. It's actually the same stuff Fountain is using for subscriptions and Preimun content.

Enjoyed getting an #AlbyHub updates from Moritz. Extremely bullish on Alby and have been since #PC20 added them years ago.

Love #AlbyGo and it's notifications. Also it's the fastest way to pay a lighting invoice. Also a great way so see if your #AlbyHub is only b/c it won't connect if your AlbyHub is offline.

It's all so broken with podcasting and wallets but this also involves music, audiobooks and anything else PC 2.0 wants to put on a RSS feed. Thanks for being this to more ears Chris and Alby have been nothing but great to us DIYers this while time.

The issue with other apps just switching to lnurl is that it requires more sever load and apps like Castamatic run on device so what do they do? Also the metadata like was mentioned. Fountain isn't the only game in town and there are other apps that have been doing this V4V lightning thing before them that can't be left behind. They all use Alby and it's been great but now with the AlbyHub switch we need an alternative for new users that is dead simple. Something like coinos but it doesn't do keysend so here we are.
