This seems a very accurate description of btc to me, and also one which depends on two things: btc being hard money, and btc being usable as money for trade.

Trying to keep it short: Money used for Money-Commodity-Money trades is capital. This is how an industrialist uses money. Contrast this to the Commodity-Money-Commodity use of money by say a poor farmer.

It's interesting that you ask if Saylor is downplaying btc as an asset, when the clip you played has him describing it as capital. In classical political economy, capital is a specific role played by hard money.

I've wanted to boost more often but money has been tight. However I recently switched jobs and will most likely more than double my income and a lot of that is due to Linux and self hosted knowledge that I grew over the past years for work and while listening to your shows. I have heard many that know Saylor personally guess he is far more of a revolutionary than he appears, and his message is just carefully curated for the powers that be, and I agree.

Of course saylor is undselling the monetary aspects of bitcoin. Earlier in the episode you heard Rubio mention the loss of ability to sanction other currencies. The last thing saylor needs is regulatory resistance to his stacking strategy, thus he downplays those properties to an extreme.

As far as Bitcoin being an asset vs money, I think it can be both. For me I have a retirement plan with a mountain of btc but I also have btc i boost with and use for the rare btc merchant. Anyways love the show and I hope you continue to keep up the great work! Much love from south TX!
