Great episode, I'm a little behind. Keep them coming!!

Hey Chris! You probably don't remember me but I used to go by cardanerd. Thanks to you and Bitcoin dad i'm reformed and working on building an envelop style budgeting app built on lightning and nostr. Thank you for everything!

Hey Chris, I am one of those that _did_ come to bitcoin via the FIRE community. I literally read the entire Mr. Money Mustache blog. (RIP in peace google reader). I think you are right that they are largely our allies. They believe in frugality, the Trinity Study, and Safe Withdrawal Rates based on historic stock market performance. Obviously I think they'd do well to diversify into bitcoin directly, but the index f…

Hi Chris, Alby is great, but to setup a node easily without hardware and for tinkering, I found Rizful. They also offer Vaults where you can customize your Lightning Address <something>@rizful.com. It's the guy behind The Megalith Node that created Rizful, a fun way to learn about LN and tinkle with it.

Thanks again for the solid signal. Wow, a lot of action in the comments this episode. I’ve tagged you in Nostr with some audio clips of the Tornado Cash and Samourai trials. The journals covering it are the Rage and Frank Corva from Bitcoin Magazine. Onwards.

AlbyHub is the greatest node implementation Also LND had a vulnerability that could've obliterated the entire network through DOSing them with gossip messages. This vulnerability had lingered for years. I say this cos LND is like 90% of the LN. That's why I shill AlbyHub and LDK Node.

I think you misunderstood the fire movement. They're not trying to get a 25x return. They're trying to reduce their spending so that having a nest egg that is 25x their annual spending is easier. And then live a lifestyle that allows them to withdraw 1/25th (4%) every year. The growth they need to sustain that is to merely match inflation. They don't need 25x to do that.

12 12 this is just a test to see if i can boost again. Had problems since the infra change.

The greater fool theory kills me. Someone decides to store value by hanging on to something with good monetary properties. Over time, he does better than someone holding onto something with worse monetary properties. Other people follow suit and the good money obtains a monetary premium and goes up in value. This doesn't require anybody to be fooled about the nature of the money. It would be foolish to not adopt the…

Also, "Bitcoin is already an index of human incentive" is the most insightful thing I've heard in a while. I'm shamelessly stealing that.

As a PNRI, not all of us are stuck in the fiat mindset. I personally am as all in on Bitcoin as I can be until I actually retire. It's my long term savings. It's my checking. My paycheck goes directly into Bitcoin. We are not beholden to our generational ideas. And it is each of our responsibility to question our assumptions. Which has fed my orange pill.

Hey Chris! Great show! Regarding the age vs gold standard stuff, I more or less agree with you, I just see it a little differently. Instead of time since 1971, I think of it as “time spent on a fiat system”: They blow up 100% of the time, so the longer one goes, the more messed up and prone to failure it is. Going off the gold standard allowed for more creative ways to keep the charade going. Also, consider the ince…

Hey Chris, great episode. I think your rebuttal of JL’s criticisms of Bitcoin was right on point. Another thing to consider is that, even for someone born in 1971, it was still 1989 before that person left high school, 1992-1994 before they exited post-secondary, and perhaps another ten years after that before their income achieved a level that started generating any positive flow. Especially if student debt was par…

Fresh TWiB is out, sorry it’s a bit late. I spent some extra time debunking the “Greater Fool” argument against Bitcoin, and then there is just a ton of Macro to break down. It’s a packed episode!
