One thing that allows Apple to grow at the pace it does its its ability to borrow money into existence from banks through bond sales. It literally is taking value from all other players in the system through the Cantillon effect. Stocks and the notion of compound interest on a hard money standard will exhibit a slower rate of growth. The interest rates on the gold standard were 1% under the Bank of England for centuries -- and that's with the existence of fractional reserve lending, something which may or may not exist in a world on the Bitcoin standard. There's no free lunch; for most of us to keep the value of our time and energy, the people who have been benefiting from the theft of it are going to need to stop stealing it.

During a pump or dump there are just as many sellers and buyers (or rather, just as much bitcoin being bought as sold). Buyers and sellers AT SPECIFIC PRICE LEVELS, OTOH, vary considerably.

Re:other nodes and making news, you're clearly not watching Eric Voskuil on Twitter. Libbitcoin 4 just did IBD in 14 minutes on a consumer connection (with assumevalid height of 950k) and 55 min for full validation. Older than Knots, and older than Core being called, well, Core. They slept for a good few years but are waking up with a vengeance.

The cloak and dagger shit with Switck is heating up. People were already looking for a reason for this to be inside. Still not totally convinced but it looks sketchy as fuck. Never been more glad I had fun playing dice games with my bitcoin.
