Without local caching and unilateral exit actually implemented in the app and having hard dependency on operator cooperation to exit then it’s custodial. Listen I actually like Spark and think it makes reasonable tradeoffs in a world without covenants, but as it stands it’s a custodial product. Happy to revise this once we see an actual implementation of unilateral exit and more operators and LSPs, but it’s just the honest reality today.

In my profession dealing with bureaucrats.... I love when people talk about something they did that "got them in trouble“ with the local boot lickers. Half my job is designing shit in AutoCAD and half is dealing with bureaucrats and I honestly don't know which one I love/hate more .... But I have found my neighborhood superpower is when I get a referral to a new neighbor and then I can go into the planning department and gaslight them into giving my new neighbor a permit. Sometimes it's not worth the fight but just convincing the people in charge that you cannot be governed is worth it whether they realize it or not.....

I've realized that the risk is too high for what reward? That they buy Bitcoin? I realized it when someone new moved to the neighborhood and one of my good friends at a cookout said “oh yeah! He has a bunch of Bitcoin"..... First I was like “lower your voice" then very honestly said to him and this new guy “I just heard about it in 2020, I certainly don't have very much" which is completely true. But you never know. That little statement gets mentioned to a few more people and someone raids my house in the middle of the night for 10 BTC which a don't have. They might still threaten my family only to find out I have like 100,000 sats on a hot wallet......... Similarly, I wanna teach my kids about sound money but also have to teach them about privacy too so they don't go telling their random P.E. coach or some kid on the bus who knows where we live that “yeah my dad has a lot of Bitcoin!" How can we film an MTV Cribs type show with Bitcoiner houses without doxxing locations or faces?!?! Can Home Assistant help with that?! I also used to have all these automated lights and quickly realized I didn’t want to deal with it or have it phoning home. For lights automation I’d much easier to install an analog option (motion sensor switch) on the wall to replace the manual switch. Like a bathroom occupancy switch which will turn on the lights for 30 minutes when you walk in... So unless you take a really long shit then the light and fan will turn off after you finish your business and leave. If you get stuck watching videos or doomscrolling then just a simple wave of the hand will turn it back on! I had this happen to me once in college where I was in a stall and the light turned off in the bathroom while I was in there and the sensor couldn’t see me... didn’t turn back on until the next person walked in and was surprised I was shitting in the dark. Or in my shed when I can’t get my fucking miners to work and I’m staring at the computer then the lights turn off so I typically use that as an indicator that I need another beer and walk over to trigger the lights again. (Sorry for the long boost on your hour-long show... I sent extra sats...)

Great Star Wars discussion! I never read the books (surprisingly) but collected the cards, played the games, and fairly recently caught up on all the old shows like Clone Wars, Rebels, Resistance and Bad Batch. Generally enjoy them all but Clone Wars likely the most. I'm a huge fan of Andor and Rogue One. I'll have to check out Picard Season 3 because I tried season 1 and can't remember if I even finished it. Never ever considered watching season 2...
