I'll be listening to much more from these guys, @ODELL and John Arnold. Great discussion in this episode on many market topics! They mentioned gold a bit, and it made me think about gold's role in a hyperbitcoinized world. I think it'll retain an important role as it will be less volatile. An increase in gold price will lead to an increase in gold mining, which will put a dampener on the price increase. So some traders will move over and back between gold and bitcoin based on expectations of the rate of gold mining. But I'm staying all-in on bitcoin for a few decades first 😜 Many other podcasters are quite ignorant of tradfi, and bizarrely proud of it 🤪. But these two know their stuff, and have a sense of humour

A big gold price increase will lead to an increase in gold mining, and therefore that will put a lid on how quickly the gold price can go up. In the far future, many investors will move over and back between Bitcoin and gold, based on their expectations of future rates of gold mining Finally, too many Bitcoin podcasters are ignorant of tradfi, and bizarrely proud of it as they think they are sticking it to the tradfi fiat folks 😜. But these guys in this podcast know their stuff, and have a sense of humour about it.

Nice updates from Matt Corallo on Lightning ⚡, to allow non-custodial wallets to be more robust and generally better and more scalable To stop someone cheating on Lightning, you need to be able to send the "justice transaction". But if fees are high, and this transaction pays low fees, then the miners won't accept it But one of the many things that Matt discussed in this episode is how we can pair this transaction with a new high-fee transaction which encourages the miner to mine it. This second transaction depends on an output from the first transaction, and therefore the miner needs to include both in order to collect the generous fee. The relays (Core) have already been updated to be intelligent enough to pair these transactions together I recently went all in on Bitcoin, mostly due to optimism about the progress made with (non-custodial) Lightning ⚡⚡⚡
