But it was philosopher/theologian Elton Trueblood who said it in the manner I think you were referencing, "A man has made at least a start on discovering the meaning of human life when he plants shade trees under which he knows full well he will never sit." 100 I can see merit to both sides of "would you rather be Oregon or Texas/PSU". If we've learned anything from this season though, it's that anyone can beat anyone on the right day. Health is also a huge factor, and not having to risk QB1, an OT, your best edge rusher, etc get hurt (even in a win) is a big advantage IMO. For those reasons, I'm siding with Dan.
