Just boosted ⚡ 5,000 sats to @Local Bitcoiners for Ep. 25 "Bitdevs are Bitcoin Meetups w/Shinobi: Chicago, IL | Ep. 025" This episode is possibly my favorite one so far. Sometimes you just need to hear how it really is vs what the main narratives are. Fact is, we have a long, long, LONG way to go with hardware wallets in regards to true self sovereignty without serious risks. https://fountain.fm/episode/dk5LtelNmExXCEjGLitt https://localbitcoiners.com

Just boosted ⚡ 1,000 sats to @Local Bitcoiners for Ep. 8 "Making Meetups Fun & Sustainable: Bitcoin Bay | Ep. 008" Setting up a 501c3 is such a good idea. Cleveland Bitcoin is in the process of doing that as well. Really good episode https://fountain.fm/episode/pmNA13rcCFrIvdNlUjfA https://localbitcoiners.com

Just boosted ⚡ 1,000 sats to @Local Bitcoiners for Ep. 7 "How Meetups can Benefit from V4V, Nostr and Valuechains | Ep. 007" It’s taken me a while to get the wind in my sails using Nostr but I seem to have caught the breeze finally. It’s really growing on me https://fountain.fm/episode/D1Z2oJExWQIqEmrg95TL https://localbitcoiners.com

I did not know about Grassroots. Glad you guys shed light on it. This is one of the reasons what you guys are doing in the podcast is so important.

Just boosted ⚡ 5,000 sats to @Local Bitcoiners for Ep. 23 "Michigan Meetup Roundtable w/Buffalo: Grand Rapids, MI | Ep. 023" Michigan continues to impress me with its Bitcoin culture. Building the community inside of Bitcoin is the way. Nice job everyone. https://fountain.fm/episode/NMAPCkCF8f5WNpTCAOQL https://localbitcoiners.com

Are you kidding me with this? I feel like Auggie just caused every listener to have a lightbulb pop up over their heads. Wow!

The idea of Bitcoiners across the world and their local regions creating networks amongst each other paralleling the settlers westward expansion blew my mind. I love westerns so I’m here for it

Hey Indy, the Beefsteak meetup sounds like a good time. Great idea for a way to get Bitcoiners together. Reed and Rev, you guys are building something special and I’m glad I can watch it grow. A lot of good ideas here, by the way, that maybe Cleveland Bitcoin can do to implement into our website.

Just boosted ⚡ 1,000 sats to @Local Bitcoiners for Ep. 3 "Meetups & Podcasts are the Signal: Ottawa, CA | Ep. 003" Great episode. After listening to multiple episodes now it’s clear to me that every meetup across the world is a beacon of light reminding me of the light towers being lit up in the Lord of the Ring movies. We go stronger with every one. Adoptiin is clearly beginning to speed up. https://fountain.fm/episode/NFBJRwFDW34wNHkujo3e https://localbitcoiners.com

Excellent episode. I agree that every meetup group needs to set up an online chat once it gets its legs. We did the Telegram thing at Cleveland Bitcoin but as you pointed out to many scammers on that app. We switched to Discord and it has blossomed. Can’t recommend it enough.

The episode that started it all! This is a solid foundation episode for anyone who wants to get their meetup up and running. At Cleveland Bitcoin we use Club Orange and X. We used Meetup.com at some point too. But once you are consistent and a few core people stick then word of mouth really gets them to your meetups. By the way, our group has a website. Check it out … ClevelandBitcoin.org

Great episode. Chicago really sounds like they have their act together up there and are a great inspiration for the rest of the meetup groups across the country. Nice job CBC! Want to clear something funny up…. My handle is pronounced (wit sixer). I got a kick out of the different ways to say it but thought I’d clear it up for you. Also, want to shout out the last episode involving Columbus. I boosted the show via the Local Bitcoiners website, but there was some sort of glitch. And it didn’t make it on this episode. Shannon and his meetup gang do a great job down there. Several of our members here in Cleveland have gone to the Columbus events and we always come back home glad we made the short drive down there. Apologies for the wordy boost this time 😎

Just boosted ⚡ 5,000 sats to @Local Bitcoiners for Ep. 18 "Upping Your Meetup Game w/Steve, Scott & Tali: Louisville, KY | Ep. 018" I’m in agreement with Talia…. Social interaction is the way to go. Knowledge of Bitcoin will grow with social interaction. Each group can grow their base through educating those members once the members show interest in certain subjects in the bitcoin ecosphere. Each member of a group will have their strengths and weaknesses and as result there are tons of opportunities. Education programs within each group can blossom if you give the members time to be a part of a social structure that shows that their friendship is valued. IMO. Next Cleveland Bitcoin Meetup is on July 10, 7pm at Saucy Brew Works in Cleveland. Hope to see you there https://fountain.fm/episode/bBf4IJhsERLpTYeRESOa https://localbitcoiners.com

So many great topics in this podcast. I can relate to many of them. Definitely start your own meetup. Cleveland Bitcoin had two different groups going who didn’t know of each other and one day one person (Rocko) connected the dots for our group. We instantly doubled in size. It can happen. Also want to mention that the longer I’ve been in bitcoin I began to actually enjoy spending sats vs only saving them. It will sneak up on you and it becomes very satisfying. Save them up but spend a little too.

Just boosted ⚡ 5,000 sats to @Local Bitcoiners for Ep. 16 "Parallel Systems for Silent Bitcoiners w/Bit_ish: Cleveland, OH | Ep. 016" Thanks for having Bitish on guys!
