My take on the death of binge tv: I don’t think it’s because people are not watching, but rather people just don’t know that there are things to watch. Companies are cutting back on spending and the first to go is marketing. I didn’t know about Rick and Morty or Silo. Also, it could be the game of thrones effect.

Catching up on some missed episodes so here’s a little extra. You talk all the time about the nomad lifestyle. Are there any challenges to living the RV life? (Aside from the nuances not common to household living) I imagine it’s nothing but great. People turn into nomads after retirement for a reason…

Hot take on hobbies: watching TV and reading a book is NOT a hobby. That is “entertainment”. A hobby needs some kind of effort on your part that potentially builds a skill. BUT, reading the most books or becoming an expert in a TV show ARE hobbies IMO.

I shared my New Year’s resolution in LUP: The year of NixOS. However, I wanted to share my wife’s because it’s interesting. The 10 x 10 challenge. Play 10 board games 10 times. Sounds hard, but she did it last year with a full time hospital job and everything. She is obsessed with board games. Makes for easy Christmas/Birthday shopping.

Here is a little extra for the holidays. I think a Holiday Home Lab special is a great idea and I will be submitting mine as soon as I can. Maybe you can include an award for longest running server?

I heard a while back mention of TalosOS and it intrigued me. I haven’t had a chance to play with it until now. A need arose for a dev Kubernetes cluster so I figured I would try it. It’s stupid how easy Talos makes it. What was originally a week’s worth of effort was done in like 5 minutes. I will be playing around more with it but very happy so far. As always, love the show. Thanks for all you do!
