Without local caching and unilateral exit actually implemented in the app and having hard dependency on operator cooperation to exit then it’s custodial. Listen I actually like Spark and think it makes reasonable tradeoffs in a world without covenants, but as it stands it’s a custodial product. Happy to revise this once we see an actual implementation of unilateral exit and more operators and LSPs, but it’s just the honest reality today.

One of the main things keeping me from switching fully to @npub1v5ufyh4lk… is the lack of desktop or web support. I’m not going to pretend that adding a new platform to support would be easy, but so many other podcast apps have a desktop equivalent and the lack of one messes with my existing flow. I’ve heard priests say that encountering the spirits of loved ones after their recent deaths is a very common occurrence.
