"Any Bitcoiner who is mad that governments are getting involved in Bitcoin was always being unrealistic about what the path of maturation is for a nascent store value asset." On this Bitcoin Talk episode of THE Bitcoin Podcast, Walker talks with Jesse Myers (AKA Croesus). They discuss the inevitability of the Strategic Bitcoin Reserve, how EARLY we are to adoption, why most people will FOMO buy at $1M per BTC, the Yuppie Elite dismissing Bitcoin, and more. There is a big difference if you signal shitcoins are welcome or you focus on money and discourage non-monetary use cases. There are plenty of shitcoins they can play on. Nodes and users are important otherwise it deceases to be Bitcoin and becomes captured and centralized.

I have never heard that knots supporters argue that they don't believe that a fee market establishes in the future. Hmm, why you think Luke is for 300kb blocks 🤔

Super Argument Dennis.

Why Bitcoin? You ask … Listen to Natalie, Larry, and James discuss why our broken money is breaking and will continue to break resulting in the need for sound money … Bitcoin This is bullish.

A lot of condescension in his voice. He doesn't seem to be taking on the argument from the other side sincerely.

After hours of digging into this, I think the crux is (and please ppl join in): 1)opposition is worried of statements like “btc is whatever ppl want it to be, so if tomorrow the block space will be full of jpeg and monetary transaction are pushed out, then let it be that, a database for storing jpeg”. This is what I hear at least 2)what btc is is decided by the people, why are ppl that don’t agree with this change and don’t want to store JPEG on the their node potrayed as censorship, and not as expressing their vote for what they want btc to be? 3)also very worrying that core potrayed opposition as irrational and minimal. There are too many ppl, too many, opposing this, so portraying them as non-existent and irrational is not reassuring I don’t know where I stand anymore, but I’m worried the way the debate itself is being handled

If it doesn’t have in app unilateral exit, it’s custodial, period. This is not negotiable. If something is not implemented then it simply doesn’t exist for the average user. 99.99999% of Spark users don’t even know a CLI app exists let alone how to use it. Without local caching and unilateral exit actually implemented in the app and having hard dependency on operator cooperation to exit then it’s custodial. Listen I actually like Spark and think it makes reasonable tradeoffs in a world without covenants, but as it stands it’s a custodial product. Happy to revise this once we see an actual implementation of unilateral exit and more operators and LSPs, but it’s just the honest reality today.

Mid and upper models of Flair Espresso maker are plastic free in the brewing areas and around $400-500. Tradeoff is it’s manual but that is just more proof of work. Pair with a metal hot water kettle and you’re all set.

You're starting to warm up to me, Walker. Great show. Love the topics you and Jesse touched on. Enjoyed listening to the analogy of the Oregon Trail and how the land was first distributed then purchased, has parallels to Bitcoin adotion.
