Show Notes

"My own prediction is that slow bleed has been accelerating and is only the first step. The second step will be speculative attacks that use bitcoins as a platform. The third and final step will be hyper-bitcoinization." - Pierre Rochard We are entering a new phase of the Bitcoin game theory. What really happens when the hardest money in the world, encounters hundreds of weak, fiat currencies? What unfolds is a series of feedback loops that drive the bad money out of circulation, and leads to eventual "speculative attacks" on the weaker currencies particularly in conditions with...

Dr Jacks and Breedlove keep talking about the absolute importance of the protection of “private property” but completely ignore the literal theft of people’s homes in Palestine. Every home in Israel was stolen from a Palestinian family 🤷‍♂️. You can’t pretend to defend private property while ignoring the evil that is happening in Palestine. It comes off false.

Dr Jack: AI is the most dangerous thing in humanity because it has the ability to whitewash history Breedlove: but Bitcoin is immutable. The history of the 21million cannot be changed. This struck me hard. Is it possible to code books humanity will need to rebuilt civilisation or simply can we code books or ideas which we think are important into the blockchain. Is it feasible? Will it mess up Bitcoin? Is it expensive? Great listen.

Great show but I think both of you were ignoring the elephant in the room. Yes UK went to war on a lie in Iraq and 1m people are dead. This is unforgivable. Now the UK is complicit in a genocide and no one was talking about it. Talking to friends and family. This is the reason a lot of them just didn’t vote. There was no point cos both sides support genocide, support censorship and support sending bombs to foreign tyrants. I don’t think I’m the only one who feels this way.

Finally just as I was losing my faith in bitcoiners along comes a bitcoiner who is brave enough to speak what everyone sees. Yes the Zionist mafia is committing genocide against the Palestinians and history will remember it as such. Thank you for having the great big hairy balls!!! The unapologetic bloody mindedness to speak the truth to power. Always. Robert Breedlove I salute you.

Great show Teddy and Daryl. I got my knots badge but got my beard stuck in the knot. It was 45 mins of pain but the teacher was very impressed cos he thought it was the strongest knot he’d ever seen. Had to cut my beard in the end. No loger feeling the Gandalf vibe but proud of my knot. Tell me a bit more about your train sets.

This by far your best podcast and I’m including WBD. I’ve been a long time listener and this is amazing. Mr Sutter is an incredible educator. He is able to get across stupidly complex ideas easily and your interview style of not interrupting makes listening to him a joy. Thank you for this show.

I love Tom Luongo. Man speaks sense about the infinite war machine. It’s so depressing right now but Israels genocide in Gaza has opened people’s eyes. The world is starting to connect the dots between infinite money printer and infinite war machine.

Great show. It really resonated with me when you said the rich finance Bros are getting bitcoin while poor people who’ll benefit the most are just not getting it. It so sad but like you said bitcoin is for enemies.

Oh boy. You really tried Natalie but he really doesn’t understand bitcoin. And bitcoin is not intuitive. You really have to understand the protocol before you can be confident. He is however right about us not understanding how bad things can get. We are a bit complacent about how violent the state can become (Israel as an example).

Inspired by Darkside, I asked DeepSeek “Can you predict the outcomes from the global financial crisis in 2008, if bitcoin existed as it presently exist with the ETFs and treasury companies”. Answer is fascinating. Of course. This is a fascinating "what if" scenario that blends history, economics, and technology. Predicting outcomes requires considering how a decentralized, non-sovereign, and globally accessible asset like Bitcoin would have interacted with the specific causes and effects of the 2008 crisis. First, let's clarify the key elements of your question: * **The 2008 Crisis Core Problem:** A collapse of trust in counter-party risk within the traditional financial system. Institutions like Lehman Brothers, AIG, and Bear Stearns were found to be insolvent due to exposure to toxic mortgage-backed securities. Banks stopped lending to each other, freezing credit markets. * **Bitcoin "as it presently exists":** This implies: * A mature asset class with significant liquidity (~$1T+ market cap). * Spot Bitcoin ETFs (e.g., BlackRock's IBIT, Fidelity's FBTC) providing easy, regulated access for traditional investors. * Publicly traded companies (e.g., MicroStrategy) and national governments (e.g., El Salvador) holding Bitcoin on their treasury balance sheets. Here’s a predicted breakdown of the outcomes, categorized into likely positive and negative consequences. --- ### Likely Positive Outcomes & Mitigating Effects 1. **A Massive "Flight to Safety" and Store of Value:** * **Scenario:** As trust in banks and traditional assets (stocks, bonds, even some currencies) evaporated, investors would have desperately sought alternatives. Gold famously surged during this period. Bitcoin, with its defined monetary policy (hard cap of 21 million) and independence from any government or bank, would have been a prime candidate. * **Outcome:** We would have seen an enormous capital inflow into Bitcoin, far exceeding the 2017 or 2021 bull runs. Its price would have skyr…

I couldn’t go past the part where he said everyone was against Israel as if that’s a surprise. Israel with US bombs are committing a genocide they are bombing schools and have killed more kids than all wars in the 21st century put together. I’m sorry but they are being monsters and pretending they’re not because they’re an ally is simply wrong. This is the definition of the violence of the state that bitcoiners talk about. Private property is stolen by the state and we are seeing it in real time. This is the ultimate expression of the perversity of the state backed by fiat and bitcoiners are ignoring it because it’s uncomfortable.
