2k Regarding the discussion of movie theaters and how they suck these days, I found a local, family owned chain of theaters in Missouri (B&B Theaters) that has good retro movie nights during the week. Recently saw Jaws on the big screen for the first time. The bar/concessions staff is always great and they don't skimp on the pour. I can't stand going to a movie at a Cinemark or AMC, especially on a weekend when it's packed full. All the horrible shit you described is always par for the course there. My wife and I gave up on the bar scene years ago, but the local movie theater is a good place for a snack, few drinks, and a show on a week night.

Re homebox: also, a system I’ve developed is to use a random base36 id, e.g., X2GS, to refer to boxes, bins, etc. This frees me from trying to presort things, e.g., all cables should go in this box. When I want to find the cable or random accessory, I just look up which bin it’s in.

Regarding manuals and generally tracking of assets, I highly recommend homebox. I use it to track where things are / should be and you can associate manuals, price, warranty info, maintence, etc.
