for the link dom has the nail more on the head for the value proposition of Windows365. The major upsell is security and compliance. The hardest problem in workstation security is how to prevent people from doing stupid things because they have physical access to the machine, and you can't rely on the network security. VDIs have always been the answer and having used a Windows365 workstation for the past year for work to test I will say Microsoft may have finally cracked that nut.

Mike's recommendation for Poetry is strong, I've been using it in production for many years now! But I've recently started using 'uv' because it's written..... **in RUST** so clearly it's time to switch ;-)

On the challenge of typo squatting and software repo’s - it feels like this is something we could solve or at least improve with key pairs or passkeys or something? First time you use a repo, get prompted to establish a co-signing relationship. Each time you come back a handshake takes place. If everything matches you silently get the code you’re requesting. No match triggers an error flow with warnings and no download etc 🤔

NPM definitely has its issues and Node itself doesn't really solve for any of this. There is the new Deno project that just launched v2 and has been taking on these types of security issues for a while by requiring permissions like network and filesystem access be explicitly granted. That actually looks pretty promising. I don't use Deno for much of my work but it's definitely on my roadmap. Between Node.js, Bun, and Deno, there are a lot of great options for JavaScript development right now. Oh, and did I mention that Deno is written in Rust? *Queues the horns track*

Hey tech family! (this is MrNik86) First, thanks Chris for the Nostr to Fountain info. It's working great! Loved the Jobs/Cook discussions. So many great comments and viewpoints, keep it coming! I'm an active and open Apple apologist but it seems that every year it's so much more difficult for me to justify that position. I'm almost 40 and the Apple of my youth is a shadow of the Goliath it is today. Jobs was always about the complete user experience above all else AND the design. The revenue was just a nice bonus. Good point guys on the upgrade prices though. With the way Cook is more than willing to snuff total innovation to further revenue makes me sad and conflicted. Jobs and his reality distortion field just worked. It brought so much innovation to technology that current Apple is riding the coat tails of. Where’s the real innovation lead by dreamers not dollars. Apple Silicon, I’d argue, is a product more to envelop the cpu revenue stream totally and a nice byproduct is the performance. Keep up the fantastic work. Luv you guys!
