Welcome back! I think we should keep the “digital gold” meme around for another cycle or two for the older normies. Not sure there is any impact on younger generations. I don’t believe the overwhelming majority even understands real gold’s purpose, what gives it value or that they should even care. They just don’t understand money or energy unfortunately. Like myself, they’d learn more about gold through the years of adopting bitcoin. Also, I see how the term “digital gold” is a bit of a disservice to bitcoin and can even discourage adoption among younger generations. A digital version of something they already don’t understand or have any interest in. Perhaps I am extra cynical today haha. Anyway, thanks for all the hard work you put into the show!

I think the gold comparison is an important one. Gold is the closest thing in tradfi to Bitcoin. It is real, hard money. Before Bitcoin, serious sound money advocates basically had to be for gold. It's where we'd still be if Satoshi hadn't come along. Of course, Bitcoin is a massive technological improvement over the yellow rock, but I don't think it's a disservice to Bitcoin to draw comparisons to the most successful hard money in history.

Thanks Chris. We’ll miss the roundup next week.

For the fed worker contract ratio. I don't see firing fed workers (especially in the areas effected so far) having a real impact on spending. They'll probably be replaced by more contractors who'll cost even more while they're employed. And the gov will become even less capable of doing basics functions by itself then it already is

The beginning of that tune sounded very much like the ET theme from John Williams.

I'm so sorry about my username. It is pronounced A-morph-us Phage. You can ask Wes - he got it in Linux Unplugged. Don't feel bad though, it is very though. I might consider changing it for you. Suggestions? Also, you absolutely nailed my opinion from my thought experiment boost. The fish outta water analogy is 100% true. Also deflation will be a problem. We need to stop chasing record after record. Slow and steady is definitely better!

You‘re great.

A metal plate is a good idea, thanks I'll have to look into that.

Yes, we want a ByBit breakdown. More content is better than less. Reference: CheckonChain. Digital gold is a bad analogy, Bob Burnett will talk ppl through blockspace being the most powerful commodity the world will ever know, reference softwar. I hope all is well with your health, I am reminded that everyone is dealing with something that no one else knows about.
