I forgot to say, most of the details of what I did / used are in the writeup. So feel free to talk about whatever part of it

I'm on the wrong coast to join y'all. So instead, here's to a good time! P.S. My first computer was a Pentium 1 that we won in a department store raffle

I think Bitcoin still has a perception issue. Most folks I talk to think of it as a scam or not real (in a currency sense). Those I hear talk about it tend to be fairly libertarian or they're distrustful of the current financial systems brokeness / inequalities. Most people will follow the financial advice of societal norms (savings, stocks, etc) and by the time that norm changes the majority of Bitcoin will be owned by banks / companies. As they can afford the risks of non-trad finance systems and reg folks, who can't take that risk (financial or perceptual), will be too late to reap the goals currently touted.

+1 for the TUI challenge. My dream would be to have a mainframe terminal inspired station running only TUI / CLI apps. It may be impractical, but also awesome Here might be a good place to start: https://github.com/rothgar/awesome-tuis

For the fed worker contract ratio. I don't see firing fed workers (especially in the areas effected so far) having a real impact on spending. They'll probably be replaced by more contractors who'll cost even more while they're employed. And the gov will become even less capable of doing basics functions by itself then it already is

To automatically set my timezones in nixos I use services.automatic-timezoned. Has worked flawlessly while I've galalleviated on business trips

The headphone mic sounds good. Half listening it didn't scream out as different. When you mentioned it and I started listening more critically, it sounds like you're in a large room and there's an emptiness caused by that. But this is me not picking and I think it'd work great in a pinch
