First, enjoy the vacation, it's well deserved. Second on Ace's thought on the Amazon coin, I agree with his assessment but I think the real play will be the interest. They will treat the Amazon coin like a gift card where you deposit money with the company and redeem it later, and in that in-between time the company is accruing interest. Starbucks is rivaling some banks with their gift card interest bearing holdings and I'm sure Amazon is not far behind them.

42 seems like the perfect episode to boost for the first time using sats sent from my self hosted alby mode hosted on my start9 pure to my fountain wallet. Sorry I've been away and unable to boost but start9 had a sale going and I was stacking every day I could to take advantage of it and then I ran into some technical difficulties during my server setup, let's be honest mostly between the keyboard and chair. Good to be back and self sovereign. And I'm honor of episode 42, don't forget your towel!

I was pro Bitcoin prior to this, but operation choke point was what turned me into a Bitcoin hardliner. Also first boost from my start 9 Alby hub connected to fountain. It took several sessions with ChatGPT to figure out the issues but if you're reading this then it finally worked.

Update on mom using Mint, she's trying it on a live USB and so far is positive about it, she likes that it looks and feels like Win7. She's still not ready to take the plunge, but I'm on the lookout for one of those Win10 laptops people are getting rid of when moving to Win11 and then I'll just do a full install so she can try the full experience before making the switch... she needs a new laptop anyway, two netbirds with one gemstone/S.

I have ADHD and use podcasts and audiobooks to help me focus at work, video just distracts me and so I never use it. That being said if others would like video I'd have no issue with it so long as you remain an audio first show. I've given up on a few long time listens due to the hosts moving to a video first mindset and making the audio a waste of time to listen to, I'd hate to see that happen to TWIB. tl;dr: Video is a fine addition, as long as you keep an audio first mindset.

MadTV was superior to SNL, lower my expectations is a nice nostalgia hit, just wish it didn't signify low boost amounts.

While I do believe that the establishment Democrats are anti-bitcoin, I don't think the El Salvador investigation is just about the use of Bitcoin. While I'm sure the use of Bitcoin is a factor it may just be a convenient way to mask their true intention of driving a wedge between El Salvador and the current administration over the migrant detention center. Then again this is the Dems we're talking about so they may just have their "Bitcoin bad" blinders on and are just taking any opportunity to attack Bitcoin.

As for why truckers have migrated to GMRS, the stated reason is better audio quality being FM rather than CB's AM, antennas generally come pre-tuned, and slightly better range. The unstated reason, since the late 70's four wheelers were getting on the CB and messing things up for the drivers. So they switched to get away from them and the reasons stated above. Besides a license is just $35 and there's no test.

Bret, if you plan on doing any traveling with the van, and why have it if you're not, then I'd suggest a GMRS radio. Most truckers have switched from CB to GMRS and while you need a license to transmit, you can listen without a license. Also you have to build in a meshtastic node because.... reasons.

Just another boost

Dave, as a former business owner one hard lesson I had to learn was, trying to please everyone is a path to ruin. Sometimes you just have to be thick skinned, take ownership of a decision and tell the people who don't like it that they can either accept it or leave. They'll get mad, they'll threaten to leave, and 9 times out of 10 they'll quietly come back, and if they don't come back, then they weren't right for the vision of the project. Look after yourself first brother.

My cold storage is a paper wallet stored in an Altoids style tin that is locked in a fire proof wall safe. I print my paper wallets on a laptop that I ran DBAN on them installed Mint 19.1 on and never connected to the network. The laptop is permanently air gapped and the only connection it has is a USB connection to an old dumb laser printer. I run Bitcoin paper wallet locally to generate new wallets as needed. It may not be "military grade encryption" but it works for me and my humble little stack.

If John Deaton and his team were smart they'd make a political ad with the audio of Liz saying who she wants to keep crypto away from and then show a picture of each group with American dollars as she lists them. He doesn't stand a chance of winning but he can at least tear her down a bit and maybe limit the amount of damage she can do.

Love the Meshtastic episode, hope to hear more soon. BTW I have one of those Seeed Studio nodes coming as my everyday carry that will link to my home node to broadcast out to the mesh.

Thanks for the breakdown of the Satoshi "documentary", I'm in the camp that prefers to not know who Satoshi is so I wasn't interested in watching it but your breakdown made me decide to never even give it a chance.
