All the Nix Service talk has me thinking of a new tool I recently found called browser-use. It's a tool that uses LLM's to control a web browser really interesting to watch at work and it integrates with all the common LLM API's. Also: Postleitzhal Boost

Just had a random thought it would be cool if instead of discontinuing the podcast, it could just be a merger of sorts with LUP just did a self hosted section as part of that podcast. Obviously, I may not understand some of the things going on in the background that would keep this from being a thing.

In reply to Hybrid Sarcasms boost, OpenWebUI actually has a partial solution to a searchable obsidian vault of documentation with their Knowledge implementation. It's really easy to set up and works okay. Setting up a knowledge base in OpenWebUI can be done in the workspace. You can upload your entire obsidian vault directly through the WebUI and attach that Knowledge to a custom model based on whichever LLM you would like, ollama or API based. I only wish there was an implementation that allows syncing this from obsidian.

I’ve been learning and configuring a new proposal software at work. When I hit a snag during setup, I wished for easier access to expert support, as waiting for availability didn’t always fit my timeline. To solve this, I set up an OpenWebUI knowledge base with all the available documentation from the developers. Now, I can ask an LLM questions, and it provides answers with citations from the documentation. It’s been working great!

I might be a bit late for this, but regarding conversation about cameras that could replace Wyze cameras. I just replaced all of mine with TP Link C200 cameras. They are extremely cheap. I paid $15 each. They have some 2K variants as well that you can get for around $20. After you set the camera up in the TP link app, you can enable the direct RTSP stream and set credentials. I am pretty happy with them so far. I recently started experiencing networking issues in my docker stack. Being that it had been around since the beginning of my home lab about five years ago, it was a giant mess. So I decided to learn something new, K8s to the rescue. And holy smokes, am I the only one that found it extremely difficult to learn? I still have not quite figured out persistent volumes and persistent volume claims, but I did manage to get olivetin running in high availability with two replicas and a load balancer! Like many, I’ve accumulated numerous Docker containers. I want to ensure some stateless containers remain available if my primary server goes offline. Considering NixOS, Kubernetes, and Proxmox HA, which would best achieve high availability while using code as documentation? Open to other solutions I am unaware of as well. What are your thoughts? Conversation regarding Snippety reminded me of a MacOS app I use called Clips, it provides historical clipboard using command+c and command+shift+v. I have found it extremely useful when copying and pasting commands usernames and passwords. I can't really speak regarding the security of having something with a complete history of your clipboard but it's great to be able to select anything in your clipboard history from a context menu that appears upon pressing the combination of keys.

I heard you guys talking about perplexity before but hadn't had the chance to look into it, this episode drew my attention it again, I can't wait to try it out! I have been using openwebui's search engine integration in my Chrome search bar to help troubleshoot configuration and coding issues. It sounds like perplexity is meant exactly for that! Following up to ask for some help, I have recently found myself getting nostalgic and have been bringing life back into old flash games from my childhood. Another project that deserves attention(though I am not sure it's open source) is Ruffle, which allows you to play Flash Games in modern browsers! I have been creating docker containers to package different flash games, and have had great success. Check out tebwritescode on GH. One that has eluded me however has been a dockerized stick arena collection of containers. I am willing to make it worth someone's invested time(within reason) to take a look at what I have and help me figure out why I am not able to connect to the stick arena server.
