I think Bitcoin still has a perception issue. Most folks I talk to think of it as a scam or not real (in a currency sense). Those I hear talk about it tend to be fairly libertarian or they're distrustful of the current financial systems brokeness / inequalities. Most people will follow the financial advice of societal norms (savings, stocks, etc) and by the time that norm changes the majority of Bitcoin will be owned by banks / companies. As they can afford the risks of non-trad finance systems and reg folks, who can't take that risk (financial or perceptual), will be too late to reap the goals currently touted.

For the fed worker contract ratio. I don't see firing fed workers (especially in the areas effected so far) having a real impact on spending. They'll probably be replaced by more contractors who'll cost even more while they're employed. And the gov will become even less capable of doing basics functions by itself then it already is

People often confuse strategy and tactics. In chess, strategy is over the course of the game, while tactics are temporal, clever moments. Like in chess, like in poker, like in life - if you only ever play with a static technique, you are mistaking tactics for strategy. A supposed reliance on an issuance schedule admist an ever-changing macro economic environment? I think the 4 year cycle was a blip. A clever technique to use in Bitcoin's adolescence, but not something you should expect to be constant as it grows in adoption. It's myopic to view the halving cycle as the holy grail of indicators. Tactics are tools, not lifestyles. This is an emergent trait of time in complex systems. Science, understandings and entropy all grow in nuance and complexity over time. Generalizations can only hold so long. Like a reptile must molt to grow, so too must the strategic thinker molt their past understandings in order to progress.

The 'r' is for nostr, but if you like my handle better with your surname in the mix... by all means, read it that way 😆😅 I appreciate the passion! So long as it isn't every episode, an emphatic take or two is welcome in my eyes.

I just purchased a NerdQAxe+ and got it setup! Mostly to experiment and vote Knox of course! I purchased more BTC right before it went on discount. Unfortunate timing! Ah well, I'll just get back to stacking...

Navy Federal Credit Union has voice login. 😬 A friend of mine logged in near me and I was concerned well before I heard Altman say anything about it.

For shower/related thoughts: First, the psychological phenomenon known as allostatic load is what supresses these thoughts. I find that taking active recovery breaks (showers, cold showers, music-free driving, breathwork, etc) reduces the allostatic load thus decreasing quantity, and increasing the frequency of thoughts of this nature. Think of it like taking the garbage out frequently instead of accruing an entire dumpsters-worth. Second, mnemonic memory techniques. I craft a memorable set of reminders and link them together with some story thread. I basically instantiate a linked list full of object keys that I then iterate over and expand upon when I next have time. I repeat the mnemonic many times to ensure it sticks. Not a super linux-focused approach, but neither is drawing on the walls 😄.

I probably should've added my comment was in reference to the preshow and Brent's many time zones on his computer

To automatically set my timezones in nixos I use services.automatic-timezoned. Has worked flawlessly while I've galalleviated on business trips
