I work in the MTB industry and am unaffected, like you using ai tools can be a big help as we’re a small team wearing many hats and ai certainly has streamlined business, legal and HR research. I do have a close friend in the Saas industry and he’s had to completely pivot creating a new service within ai or otherwise be completely replaced being a coder, hacker, ect. Just read the ai2027 piece you spoke about and agree that the level of uncertainty is creating a lot of fear. I’m personally largely a spectator, my background is largely anolog in the physical space, preferably in nature with aww inspire views, however I do my best to stay informed and it is fun to be able to hold a conversation with folks like you and my friend since nobody else seems to even have an idea of what is currently happening outside what’s on mainstream media. Wanted to boost more, trying to figure out how as I’ve done it before, see, just team try hard over here. Keep up the amazing content across all your shows!

I’ve been following Bitcoin since 2013, and while I empathize with the current debate around OP_RETURN, I do wish there was more of a focus on solutions to a specific problem. I’ve never been a huge fan of the idea of the lightning network being the be all end all solution for scaling, and the Bitcoin community could benefit from all the research from other ecosystems. I currently think a decentralized, trust minimized, censorship resistant rollup style “layer 2” would be great for Bitcoin, and I hope the community starts working backwards from the end goal to find the optimal solution for this kind of technology. This is how the forks that allowed the lightning network to operate were accomplished, so I’m sure we can do the same once again. As always, love the show!

I’ve got a Fold question for you. I got the impression that you mainly use Fold for bill pay and it got me interested so I set it up and started my Fold+ trial. It took me a while to realize though that you only get rewards for bill pay up until the dollar amount you spent on your Fold card or Bitcoin purchases. Do you also put a certain amount on your Fold card so you can get the bill pay rewards or am I missing something? Thanks for the always amazing show, it’s the only one I have to slow down below 2x so I can really enjoy it.

Ark’s first implementation with Arkade has launched and I would love to see you cover this kind of thing. Bitcoin scaling seems to be entering a new era, and your unbiased opinion would be highly valued!

One of the main things keeping me from switching fully to @npub1v5ufyh4lk… is the lack of desktop or web support. I’m not going to pretend that adding a new platform to support would be easy, but so many other podcast apps have a desktop equivalent and the lack of one messes with my existing flow. I still want to support the app though and continue to boost through it.

Wanted to give you another resource to get some info on Spark. Instead of issuing a separate BTC-based coin, the whole system is built on pre-signed exit transactions that get updated for every Spark transaction. This allows users to unilaterally exit from the base chain at any time. Hey Chris, I’m curious if you’ve looked into the Spark layer 2 solution from LightSpark. Seems really promising and that it would be a good compliment to Lightning. It feels a lot like Liquid, but more trustless. It feels like there are a lot of new layer 2 solutions in the works right now and I’d love your take on them. As always, thanks for the show!

I honestly believe that JP Morgan is still spouting the same FUD so that they can eventually offer a Bitcoin based alternative, probably on their internal blockchain that will operate like a centralized L2, that solves the issues he complains about. It’ll be “faster, cheaper, and won’t allow the criminals!”

I’d love to hear some Bitcoin stats each episode. Also, yes, I’m stacking for retirement. Each paycheck I set aside some money for my brokerage, my IRA, and Bitcoin. I’m pretty sure I’ll regret not putting everything in Bitcoin in the future, but I currently sleep soundly at night.

Bitcoin therapy and an hour well spent. So many relevant topics touched upon that I’ve been struggling with with actionable solutions to immediately implement.

For those grappling with NGU and Freedom go up like me this is an excellent discussion amongst two amazing Bitcoin contributors in both spaces @npub1qwvv44dxm… @npub1j8y6tcdfw… . I personally have struggled to understand that without those explicitly interested in NGU, there will be no FGU. The altruistic ideals of Bitcoin mask our desires to gain wealth. Yes, we do want 7 billion plus people without reliable currency to be in control of their wealth, but this won’t happen unless the perceived value of BTC goes up. Oh wow, stray energy can be captured instead of flared into the environment to support the network making the currency harder. Not gonna happen unless there is incentive for those knowledgable to do so. Just a couple of examples that originally got me into Bitcoin, and for awhile I resented those that didn’t share my altruistic beliefs and only cared about their bank accounts. It cannot be one of the other, acquiring personal wealth via NGU is the only thing that will enable FGU in this decentralized system. We cannot rely on VC organizations to fund every project, @npub1qny3tkh0a… @npub1sg6plzptd… @npub1cn4t4cd78… etc can only do so much to bootstrap Bitcoin adoption, @npub12rv5lskct… @npub18ams6ewn5… can only create and GM #nostr and cash.me into existence so much without needing #bitcoin and #ngu validating what they are building. Lastly, the only way my friends and family will believe I’m not a psychopath lunatic is for the number to go up. Awesome rip @npub1cj8znuztf… keep podcasting this shit into existence!

I know that that these two don’t need any recognition here, but I’m still relatively new to this world and listening to graybeard @npub1sg6plzptd… and Mr GM @npub1qny3tkh0a… chop it up about their history, involvement in technology and Nostr had me fascinated. As someone who’s just recently booted up a node, created a cashu.me e cash wallet, and fallen deep down the decentralized protocol rabbit hole my little monkey brain really enjoyed this rip 🦅🤑
